Ashu Gupta is a contemporary artist based in Bengaluru, India. She works primarily with pen and ink
and paper piercing, exploring memory, domestic spaces and overlooked everyday details through slow,
handcrafted processes.
She has held solo exhibitions with Artisera in 2022, 2024 and 2026, including an exhibition presented
by Artisera at Bikaner House, New Delhi. She completed the Contemporary Art Summer School at the
Royal College of Art, London.
Her practice is rooted in observation, memory and the quiet emotional weight carried by everyday
forms. Working primarily with pen and ink, and paper piercing, She builds surfaces through slow, repetitive
gestures. Each mark and puncture records time, attention and memory.
The works explore domestic spaces, old houses, overlooked objects, roots and silence. Drawing
records what is seen; paper piercing creates spaces of absence and breath. Together they transform
paper into a tactile, memory-bearing surface.
